Kratom is a large tree native to Southeast Asia which is in the same family as the coffee tree. Its leaves have traditionally been used for their psychoactive effects in their native region. In Southeast Asia, Kratom leaves are usually chewed. Dried leaves be chewed as well, but most people prefer to crush them into a powder or strain them into a tea. At the sedative level, you become much more relaxed and may experience euphoria and different dream-like states often associated with opiates.
